posted 05-09-99 02:00 PM ET How exactly do golden ages work? The manual and the datalinks definitions do not match.
What are the exact bonuses?

decreased nutrient requirements for growth and increased energy output in the celebrating base.

so the growth bonus is +2 and it gives the economy of +1? What about minimum population? I want to do a population boom without creches but all my cities are at one and two

Yep. You need a pop 3 base or better.

You need to have as many talents as normal citizens and you must have at least a population of four.

thanks everyone, I guess no unfair booming for me until I get some creches up. I was kind of hoping that I could just jump from last to first in a PBEM game. Even still builder strategies are way too overpowered.

And you can't have drones. Drones have a tendency to kill things.

I didn't bother to keep on complaining, but what happened about the Golden Age Bug? I still can't get my bases to boom when I get to +6 GROWTH THRU Golden Age. Any possible kind of cross check done. In the same base, I build a creche, PopBoom, I reload & arrange a Golden Age (with +2 Nutrient, no Hab limits in the way), nothing happens.
In any case (even with Cloning Vats) <3 pop bases can never boom.

MoSe: Check the food production of your bases (you need two extra food to grow one pop immediatly with the Population Boom), also check if they have reached Hab Limit.
