Hello everybody, just got a question for you : when I play without my Alpha Centauri CD in the CD-Rom Player when starting, the program says some game options will not be available during that game session.I wonder ... since I always listen to music and have got just one cd-rom drive, are those limitations that strong ??? I couldn't notice them while playing without cd and if they are not I'll play without it while leaving my favourite music cd in for post-game music. Thanks for your reply, Disa

Yes, I've done it.But program keeps telling me there will be some limitations in game if I do not have the cd in the cd player. What limitations ??? |

I'm guessing that, like most games, the limitations for playing without the CD would be that the game movies don't run, and the music won't play (which you probably won't notice anyway.) That's probably it. |

Movies and music do run.I 've the Italian version of the game ... just tell me ... do the American / UK versions tate, if starting without cd, that the game will have some functions disabled. I'm asking since I can't notice what functions are off and since the manual doesn't state anything. Please help me out, Disa |

the message states "if you did not do a full install, some functions will not work" if you did a full install, everything should work fine. I did a full install, and have no problems with it. The only problem present, is that if someone does a full install, they still get the warning, eventhough it is not applicable. hope this answeres your question. |

CousLee, I thank you a lot for your help.Fireaxis could have easily avoided this. Am I wrong or this SMAC came out a bit too early ... 3 patches within 3 months are a bit too much ... a lot of configuration problems, some bugs .... mmmmm. Thanks again, Disa |
