Methinks that you miss the fact that there is a fundamental difference between getting head, and a blow.

Am I the only one here to talk about the game? I'm just frustrated because the only forum for that seems to be "strategies and tactics" now-- everyone has left the factions forum because of the RPers. I've got nothing against them, but it would have been nice if they had been given their own forum. And so this forum has fallen apart as well-- maybe if they all fall apart I'll do something productive with my time.

Nell: LOL. No, I don't think I'll try that, despite my love of pepperoni (note the low pun that matches the rest of this thread...) On the other hand, position could readily fix that - shifting to angles that don't promote excessive movement (e.g sitting) will reduce such effects.
BG: Subtle difference (and infinite sweet variations aside), the two names are used consistantly to refer to the same act. But what you describe sounds a lot more fun than Nell's Vacuum Cleaner.
Waiting for this thread to be padlocked... Evk, how DID you get to be the monopoly control on smut in these parts? (think building your success with sex with miriam to start writing advice for girlies.

Smeg: No, we just did the productive stuff ages ago. I'm waiting for version 4.0 to deliver a bit more stability before I go back to regular ACing. And the whole thing might improve with SMACx, or it might not, depending upon any improvements to the interface and combat system they include.
Try reviving the old set of T.I threads to find the current player knowledge on SMAC.

They say that variety is the spice of life... I think we've all read plenty of threads now along the lines of "Things I want to see in SMACX" and "Which is your favourite faction"... there's only so much discussion any game can support, and once everyone's discussed every aspect of it at least three times, one's mind does tend to wander off to other topics occasionally. Harmless fun, really... almost all the threads on the forum are game-related, which is as it should be, and the odd silly off-topic post doesn't do that much harm.
But if you really don't like the unmoderated nature of this forum, I've been looking through the Apolyton forum, and although it's a wee bit staid for my liking, it's certainly rigidly on-topic. So, there is an alternative to this forum, if that's what you prefer.

Nell-- I've checked out the Apolyton forum-- the people seem considerably less knowledgable over there. I guess I'll have to live with this until I force myself to leave these forums for good. I actually do have the power not to open up the threads that don't interest me, and I'll exercise that more often. Well, I'll try, at least.

Most people in this case are just plain wrong. You know how it goes, a few people start using the words to mean the same thing in ignorance, and it catches on. Hell I couldn't even tell why a Pom was called a Pom until a much older bloke here at work told me.
As i said to Nell, if ignorance were bliss, there's a lot of people out there very happy with sex.
And you think SMAC is unstable? Still yet to have a problem myself, but I shouldn't brag...

I'm surprised that no one recomended a new faction that believed in sexual freedom. Or maybe just add a new social setting called 'free love'.
The morgans are strongly against 'free love', since that would cut into their profits.
The hippie like gaians would probably be in favor of it, especially since their leader seems to be the only hot chick on this planet anyway.
The Believers are against 'free love', because their god doesn't want them to enjoy themselves too much.
The University guys are too shy around real women and prefer to do it with a machine or in virtual reality, so he isn't into it.
The police state of the Hive would be hostile to anything involving personal freedom, and besides, nerve stapling leads to 'limpness'.
The Spartan's leader is an uppity B!TcH who probably wouldn't be going around attacking everyone if she got some once in a while.
The Peacekeepers guy may claim to be into peace and love and such, but if he was getting any, he wouldn't be so uh.. crap... my train of thought just went off the tracks. screw it, this is going nowhere.
