I have been dreaming of making a decent total nuclear destruction scenario ever since I bought my Civ2 game. I was unsuccessful in making it with Civ2 but the arguably better scenario editor in SMAC makes it a litlle easier. The following is how the game will be set up: The year is 2181. Unknown to the former Unity factions, Earth has survived through its turmoil although a growing threat is becoming to be realized. The Spartan Coalition, under the command of Corazon Santiago's sister, Colorado Santiago, has risen in power and strength. They have developed the technology for the Planet Buster weapons. After the fall of the American government, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization nations stepped in and reestablished a democratic government not so different as the previous one. The New American citizens elected a new President, who bore the name of one of the greatest American presidents to ever live, Thomas Jefferson. With the newly strengthened NATO, intense rivalry rekindled between them and the Russian Republic. Massive arms build up has occured on both sides. It is estimated that the Russians have 50% more planet busters than NATO however NATO posseses twice as many orbital defense pods. The People's Republic of China has been taken over by the crazy and sociopathic Ling Pong who has proclaimed himself Sun Tzu. With global powers rising, the U.N. has lost control and the U.N. Charter faces repeal. It is up to you to cool down this situation or face total annialation! -Parker

Colorado Santiago? Please tell me that was a joke Other than that, if this is an apocalyptic nuclear holocaust scenario, it doesn't sound all that apocalyptic. C'mon, let's get evil here. First o'all, according to the SMAC story the U.S. did fall apart and became the Christian States of America, so no democracy for you! Second, I think NATO got dissolved. Remember, in the end the whole world is kind've dead when they take off. If the U.S. is gone I seriously doubt NATO is still around either. More war, more violence, yeah yeah!! |

The name was after the river in South America. I couldn't think of anything better. As for the US, where do here about this Christian States of America? I WILL change it if you tell me. (fanatic units of course). -Parker |

Oh and one more thing Al...At least this scenario involves massive amounts of planet busters and advanced weapons. That stupid WW3 Scenario (you know the one with the French trying to take over Europe) will not come close to the coolness of my scenario. -Parker |

get me a copy ASAP for some bete testing please????? I love the Idea..love it love it love it... Lots of plantet busters, id like to throw in a no rovers, or limited rovers clause. Rovers are made neccisarty (in my opinion)by the unusual terrain of Planet. I think they are rather obsolete for Earth. NO FUNGUS!!!!!!!!! but im sure you considered this...Keep in touch. Sorry ArchChancellor, the scenario is taking a long time to make and a beta won't be ready for a while but thanks for the enthusiasm-I haven't been working on it much anymore however I will work on it more now. By the way, do YOU know what the hell the Christian States are? -Parker |

Ill admit...i never read the story-line so i know nothing about the Christian States. But it makes sense. Im so pumped. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa. Me and my best friend put 2 months of planning into a Civ2 cold-war scenario...but we just couldnt keep the diplomacy from playing out in weird ways, nor could we decide on how to deal with the fact that major cities dont have nukes in them. Good luck and if you have any questions let me help. The ArchChancellor |

Thomas Jefferson was not one of our greatest presidents:Embargo Act Nullification Act Cutting navy funds Opposing Bank of America, and everything great and vital that Hamilton supported Being an all around jerk Choose a truly great president, like Washington or Lincoln. |
