I am a big fan of probe teams. Is it possible to build flying probe "teams" ( chassis as jet, chopper and gravship)? My friends say its possible but I cant build them. When I try to put together a needeljet and a probe package, all I end up with is a needeljet with a hand weapon (1-1-16). I have SMAC v.3.0 UK (Is this some odd bug or what?)

I think I found that problem too, and ended up settling for drop probes.

I've heard airborne probe teams were eliminated as unbalancing. I'm a big fan of drop teams and cruiser probes myself, they're -almost- as good as a jet or 'copter probe would be.

You can edit your alpha.txt to allow probe packages to be placed on air-units.

I'm curious now, too, but I can't find it. Please enlighten me.

Ever try skimship or cruiser probes? they're great for taking over sea bases & naval units. I'm gonna try cloaking one, too, but don't know if that will work.
