Sorry, but I'm getting really tired of all the posts that say this forum is dead. It's not dead, it's just that a lot of the vets have moved on and/or don't post as often, even though a lot are still here. Alot of newer people have to stop lurking and start posting.I lurked for nearly 6 months and only posted twice (I was known as Jimanda back then)and then realized that if I took an active role in the forum I'd get much more out of it and maybe even contribute something. To the next person who gets the urge to post a "this place is dead" thread, PLEASE take a second and think. If you think this place is dead, what is it that you would like to see here, what do you want to discuss? If you're at a friends house and there's a gap in the conversation you don't say, "Man, this place is dead." You try to think of something to say, you just enjoy the silence or you leave. (Can't we all just be friends!) LdZpln

Now that is a much better attitude than most of the doomsayers take. A forum runs in cycles and people move around from one to the other ,but when this one has interesting things then it will pick up. I have seen some good topics come along ,albeit not as often as before, but when they do the posting and interest factor picks up. If people want it to be better then the only way to make it better is to contribute instead of always waiting for the same people who have been around to keep coming up with things to talk about or do. One thing about fresh faces is usually fresh ideas. Just realize one thing, many of the fresh ideas to you or others might not be fresh to the past posters so they might not post as much or bother at all as it would be sort of a been there done that feeling. But that doesnt stop new people from posting. You get what you give, plain and simple. And if you want more out of the forum than what you are getting then stop bitching and contribute. Good points LedZep. |

Bovine leukemia virus (BLV), which is closely related to human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1), is a type C retrovirus that infects bovine B cells and leads to development of enzootic bovine leukosis. There, now if that doesn't kill the forums, nothing will. "Dead forum" and smileybomb postings are cluttering up the place and making it hard to find the few interesting threads that come along. Would you love me if I were... a gay bee? continuing the John Lovitz references, sandworm |
