I suffer frequently from having songs stuck in my head, forcing me to hum them, sing them, tap the rythm, or go through it in my head (or anything else similiarly drive-me-crazy-ish) For example, right now it's Rossini's "Largo al Facturum". this evening it was "Copa Cabana". This morning it was the entire Phantom of the Opera going through my head, going to the end and starting over from the beginning, over and over and over.Does anybady else suffer from this? (I know you do, don;t lie to me!) And if so, can you think of a cure (besides getting another song stuck in your head!)

I get songs, advertising jingles, cartoon themes, everything in my head. What's really frustrating is when you get a song you can't really recognize in your head. You're sitting there hearing it wondering what the heck it is and who sang it. Also of note is getting music that you haven't heard for a long time in your head. Why am I suddenly remembering this? You can drill a hole in a pinpoint section in your brain. Other than that, There is no cure. |

Copa Cabana - that really is torture.I've had various monty python songs going round and round for days. One more chorus of thelumberjack song may drive me over the edge. Beta-1 Is not a lumberjack and only occasionally wears womens clothes |

Best cure I know is to deliberately start singing a different song, over & over. |

sit on my face and tell me that you love me, I'll sit on your face and tell you "I love you", too. I love to hear you moralize...I can walk around grinning like an idiot all day with that one running It happens all the time, usually a catchy, yet crappy song. Be warned, Barry Manilow or Rod Stewart could cause brain hemorrhages. Recite your country's national anthem over and over. It works in the US because our anthem isn't too great. |

I like to think of myself as having good taste in music, I mean I AM a Dream Theater fan after all, but a few years ago I got a song stuck in my head that I'll never forgive myself for:"Pump up the jam, pump it up, pump it up, pump pump it, Pump up the jam, pump it up, pump it up, pump pump it ..." To make matters worse my friend the music major overheard me, and LHAO. Arrgh! My advice is don't try to fight it; just let it pass THROUGH you. Your brain is programmed to remember things that trigger emotions, so the harder you fight it, the longer you'll be stuck with the infernal racket. Just go with the flow and let the annoying song wash over you, and it will drain away eventually. |

the only REAL cure I know is to whack your head on something really hard. That gives you different things to think about than a song. |

You will find that decapitation is fairly effective. |

How about a sort of ear-attachment for a vacuum cleaner. Just attack to the side of your head and ...Beta-1 has just found out if he sucks his brain out through his ear he finds it hard to finish his posts |
