Wow, nothing but smartass answers. Not that I've never posted smartass comments, but that's all there is here. No one even wants to make small talk anymore. Maybe the forums are dead and they just don't know it yet. This really is sad. |

Any suggestions as to which baseball team to support? I hear "Yankees" is almost a swear word some places (just like "United" or "Beckham"  ) |

The old metallica songs were better than the new ones, but metallica is old now anyway and has moved out of the spotlight to make room for bands such as korn and insane clown posse. Don't get me wrong; I like metallica and all, but they are just getting kind of sorry. On another topic, let's talk about sk8ing. It's much better than talking about music. AND, these forums are dead. Most people are at ACOL now, including myself. As far as baseball, I like the Reds. |

hey, homee-g man yoyoyohey must be pretty lonely there at the PC late at night (j/k) ummm...all u all gotta listen to some oldies musik, it's soooo kewl well now that I got THAT out... so yoyoyohey (why the strange name?) this thread is a sign that the forums are dying (well not really, the've been dead for several months now). Why doesn't that spark some discussion? lol |

I read the Firaxis site all the time too and I do admit that the general atmosphere between posters is much more friendly and civil, but it doesnt exactly rock with posting going on like this one did six to ten months ago. And to Asphyiaxted Demon, you spelled your name wrong ...and the Yankees and baseball dont suck. It is all a matter of opinion. And my opinion is baseball and the Yankees rule. Valtyr, if you want the baseball team with the greatest history behind it ,that would be The New York Yankees. And they are hated in many places in the US, but that is out of jealousy of losers. |

Steinbrenner (sp?) still sucks. Eventually with all the money he was spending on players a good team would pan out. I know my team isn't the best. But I still think they will win the pennant at least. Go Diamondbacks. |

Why does Steinbrenner suck...because he has lots of money to spend and he does? If I had lots of money to spend to get what I wanted or if you did ,then would we suck too? That is just jealousy. It is a normal human trait so do not take offense by it> I am jealous of things at times in my life,and it is not that big a deal. I think if you have it( money) and you want it, then go for it.And I believe that Mr. Colangelo,owner of the Diamondbacks plays the game the same as it has been played since the beginning of baseball. Teams with money spend it to get the better players to be the better team to win more games to make more money to spend more money to get better players to......you get it.This is and has always been baseball. No different now than 50 years ago except the numbers are larger and the players wield more power now than the owners. Dont tell me about the golden days of baseball and parity. There never was any. In the supposed golden days of baseball,who won the world series every year...The NY Yankees.In one 16 year stretch from 1949 to 1964 they went to the series 13 times winning 9 times. Where is the parity and this was during the golden years that the media always talks about. The Yankees had money and signed the best players,period. The Washington Senators won squat. So it has always been the money and big markets for the most part.So he does not suck for that reason. Unless he has somehow wronged you,Krushala, in a personal way then the only reason you say he sucks is cause he always wins and not your team so you are jealous. Sorry, dont take it personal, I am just into baseball and history and facts and I get mad at the media for saying how the game is far worse today than 50 years ago. I dont agree. Besides the Diamondbacks wont even beat out The New York Mets in the National League so just prepare for a subway series....one we havent seen since 1956 ..one year before I was born(never did get to see one or The Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants,kind of pisses me off so I am hoping this year)It might even make a trip back home worth it if I can get tickets. Havent been to a playoff game or series game since the Mets whipped Houston then Boston in '86. |

If I am to support a baseball club it has to be one with some history to it, even though there is something to be said for supporting the underdog. I'm not sure about those clubs that have moved about too much from city to city either (strange American phenomenon, never happens in European football). The alternatives seem to be the NY Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox (hate the spelling, though), Boston Red Sox (ditto), Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians (stupid, almost racist club logo?), Pittsburgh Pirates (?), Cincinnati Reds (?) etc. On the other hand, maybe I should forget the whole thing, I never get to watch any baseball anyway  . |
