So there I was, greasy little paws tearing open the Alpha Centauri box and cramming the CD into the system...
Some six months later I thought I'd take another look at the forums here to see what new and interesting discussions and debates were raging. I'm almost sorry that I did. Outside of 'Deep Thoughts', and a few other isolated posts, the site that I used to refer friends to as an example of some serious brainpower has degenerated into something I would hesitate to recommend to anyone.
What happened to the courtesy I used to see here? If one disagreed with what another had to say, it was the basis for an intelligent discourse. Sure, tempers got lost and words were said, but namecalling and obscenities?
This would appear to be the end of a truly civilized, occasionally brilliant forum.

The fact is that things change. A good site can only change for the worse, whilst a poor one, if it survives, can only get better.
Stick around and invite your pals back if you want the forum to thrive.
