Are you for real?

First off, no they haven't. When you registered, you agreed to the terms of service. These forums are private property, and therefore, the owner can do whatever the hell he wants. EA and Firaxis don't want blatantly offensive threads, so they remove them.

"These forums are private property"??????

Are you crazy or what? This forums are private property of each of us, as well as our Internet connections actually build Internet.

Methinks you are mistaken. You do not own these forums. You have agreed to a contract by registering, and this contract states that you are to not post "indecent or offensive material", and that the owners of these forums , those who actually bought the server, reserve the right to delete posts containing afore mentioned material. If you wish to not have these restrictions, I say that you should set up YOUR own forums and spew all the nonsense you want.

I bet you are the one who removed people's posts.Well don't worry, I'll ask lawyer if we can sue you assholes, and better prepare some cash for the trial.

Hey Misho, why don't you go **** yourself. I swear to god, I'll track you down and gut you like a fish. You should learn to keep your mouth shut sometimes. You are the most obnoxious and irritating piece of feces I have ever experienced and 99% of everyone who reads your vile crap will agree and if they don't, then they are liars and hypocrites. Shut your goddamn hole already. You're not smart enough to have an opinion about everything and really, no one gives a damn what you think. Your whole friggin' life seems to revolve around this forum and this game, so you should be kissing Firaxis
somewhere between the meatwhistle and the poopchute, you stinkin' scumbag.

Hmm...

--"They violated Internet's freedom of speech."

This is interesting. Frankly, I haven't ever heard the Internet speaking to me, they must have silence it pretty darn well. Wonder what it thinks about global warming?
Look, the Internet isn't a person, it doesn't have freedoms. If you meant this slightly differently (and I really hope you did), well, the Internet (despite what Al Gore thinks) does not belong to the US, and is not US property. It's multinational, and it does not neccessarily fall under the jurisdiction of the US Constitution (you've already stated you're not an American or in the US, so you're already arguing from weakness). Next, as you seem to be unable to comprehend, this freedom of speech (I assume you're talking the First Amendment of the US Constitution; you know, that country you hate) only applies to freedom from government regulation. Unless you're claiming that Firaxis is an agent of the US government, you have no case. Although I'm sure you could find a lawyer willing to say you do as long as you've got cash.

--"This forums are private property of each of us,"

Really? When did you get your last bill from Origin Worlds Online? I'm still waiting for mine. I haven't got one from Firaxis, or the programmers who wrote the UBB yet, either.

--"I bet you are the one who removed people's posts."

I know this wasn't addressed to me, but believe me, if I was the one removing posts you'd have noticed it long before now.

These Forums are not our Private Property. They are Public Property owned by whoever runs it. We come in whenever and post stuff. A Forum is really no different than a Grocery Store or a Restraunt. If the patrains get out of line, then the owners have full right to tell them to leave. If the site runners view something to be offensive or whatever, then they have full right to erase it even if you think they shouldn't.

Misho, How old are you ? Stop acting as a 4-year old, I for one am getting tired of your constant whining.

BTW Its not what you say that bugs me as much as the way you say it, if you act like a grown-up maybe people will start taking you seriously.

Now I know you don't much like quotes, Misho, but this is a situation it's necessary. Here's the relevent ammendment to the US Constitution(which, contrary to what others have said would apply here; alpha.owo.com is presumably located in the US and is owned by a US company):
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the
right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
"

The operative part is "Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press...". This clearly only applies to governmental action.

Line 1:
There should only be 1 question mark.
Why don't we sue Firaxis and earn some money?

It's quite illogical for you to do that...you need a specific reason to do that.

Line 2:
The direct object is unclear. Does the Internet have the right to free speech? Or is free speech inherent to the Internet?
From the context of the responses and other circumstantial evidence, I believe it's the latter. Therefore, it should be reworded as such:
They violated the freedom of speech inherent to the Internet.

While the Internet may be a vessel for information transmission, it is so only because of what it is. Individual sites have the freedom of expression over the entire Internet, but once you go to a certain site, you don't have that same "freedom of speech" anymore. Why? Because that site is private intellectual property. That works here. While these forums are open to the public, they are Private Property of Firaxis and Origin. They pay for it, they own it and it's on their servers...so they have the right to do whatever the please with the miscellania posted on these boards.

Line 3
Illegally is misspelled.
There should only be one exclamation mark.
They illegally removed our posts!

Using logic, see the reason above.

Line 4
There should only be 1 exclamation mark.
So let's organize and hire some lawyer(s)!

Organize en masse? Why? So we can afford lawyers? What reason do we have? Because we're suing? Why? So we can get money? Why do we deserve it? No reason.

[quote]"These forums are private property"??????
Are you crazy or what? This forums are private property of each of us, as well as our Internet connections actually build Internet.

Line 1
There should only be one question mark.
"These forums are private property"?

Yes, they are.

Line 2-3
This should be "These".
There should be a "the" between "are" and "private".
"each" should be "all".
There should be an "of" between "as" and "our".
There should be a "the" between "build" and "Internet".
Are you crazy or what? These forums are the private property of all of us, as well as of our Internet connections actually build the Internet.

Actually, no. We don't own it, we don't have it on our servers, and we don't pay for its upkeep. We are not the moderators, or the administrators. We are people who have signed a contractural agreement which was set forth by the said administrators. Furthermore, our Internet connections don't build the Internet, either. All of the servers do, and we aren't servers. Generally, we're clients, esp. when we're viewing pages elsewhere. We all also don't have the T2+ connections or UNIX (or other) systems interconnected. Therefore, we don't make up the Internet, per se. We do, however, create the environment with our posts and what not. So, no, he is not crazy.

"Firaxian" and "well" should both be capitalized.
Well why don't you kiss my ass, you Firaxian censor?

He's not of Firaxis, by the way...

Sentence 2
No, he's not a moderator or administrator...so he couldn't have.

Sentence 3
There should be a "my" between "ask" and "lawyer".
There should be a "you" between "and" and "better".
Well don't worry, I'll my ask lawyer if we can sue you assholes, and you better prepare some cash for the trial.

You can't sue him...he hasn't done anything to you. And it's doubtful you'd win.

What can I say? Rephrase.
Well I didn't expect too much from mind-crippled American rednecks, so I can't say I am dissapointed. Well, first off, not all Americans are mind-crippled, and rednecks. Second of all, "rustic" usually refers to rural items...and America has more of its people in urban areas rather than rural areas. Also, the golden rule is "Always do unto others as you would have done unto you." Also, most of us complained far better and far more intelligently earlier about the flaws in SMAC...and most of the major ones were rectified. Finally, it is doubtful that we will play Alpha Centauri for the rest of our lives, which are not "pathetic". After all, Alpha Centauri is only a game.
