As TFC is possibly the best free mod EVER, I thought I'd do a quick survey: 1) List all the classes, with your favourite first and least favourite last. 2) List all the included maps, with your favourite first and least favourite last. 3) Do you use the built-in server search or GameSpy? 4) Are you an LPB or HPB? 5) Do you hate cheating Medics? I haven't played much (any) TFC but I play a lot of HL death match, if you see anyone called [Mystic4]Sparkatron that's me. Actually Venom, who real old timers will know from here has joined and he's going by the name [Mystic4]Darth_Ball he's been playing a fair bit of TFC. I'll have to get into TFC I think but I'm still learning the DM game. LPB = Low Ping Bastard, I'd say anyone with a ping under 100 (my opinion) HPB = High Ping Bastard, Anyone with a ping over 350 (my opinion) I'm a MPB with ping about 200, find me on Demon DM 1-4 most evenings. I do use Gamespy but I haven't registered it yet. |

WP, two things: 1) on question 1, you omitted the Scout 2) "Cheating Medics" are people who have a Medic on one team, a Medic on the other and a random playerclass on either. They then infect that person, and the other Medic heals him. This is done very rapidly and sends a player's score through the roof. Mike, you actually manage to get a REASONABLE ping on HL DM? Bastard. I'll just have to stick to Quake 3 Test then John III |

I've got a 56K external Diamond modem, seems pretty quick, I think it's cause I am so close to London where all the UK servers seem to be. |

It's a good modem, I had a hard time getting one without an answer phone/voice mail and all that crap on it. I can't wait 'till they start a cable modem service in my area. |

TF Classic? BHA!!! Gimme the original Quake Mod!! (as you can probably tell, i have an old 486, so Quake is about as good as it gets Favorite class - 3-way tie engineer/demoman/soldier - depending on game situation favorite map - 2fort the original TF doesn't have a built in server finder. LPB - the darn 486 can't keep up with my ADSL connection. it's been a while since i've seen a cheating medic. a good year and a half Oh and a suggestion... stay away from cable modems. They are fine now, but once a few people have it in your neighborhood, you're slowed down to a crawl, not to mention that some companies restrict your bandwith. Also it slows down to a crawl when you are uploading. But hey, they have good commercials just my 1.66 cents worth, maybe even less. Carnivean |
