Y2K = Another scheme by our beloved goverment and our beloved scientific community and our beloved Coorporation community for trying to come up with new schemes which would allow them to gain more profits. Profits = small in size, mostly green in color papers, which come from hard working 9-to-5 people, which make up 99.3% (according to a rescent report) of world's population. And that 0.7% runs the "place." It's really sad and pretty pathetic to watch some of the Americans run to their stores and buy out all the food and other supplies, it really is. There will be no Y2K problem...JEZ! I bought a computer in the Stone Age (1994) and decided to test it for Y2K compliance, and guess what, the piece of shet is going to work. So, relax people! But that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.

I'm wondering where you got the idea that 99.3% of the world's population works 9 to 5? |

It's not 99.3% for 9-to-5. Unemployment rates are higher than that here in the US, and we are one of the lowest in the World. Also, there are typically 3 shifts. 9-to-5ish, late Afternoon (when my dad works), and the Midnight shift. It may be helping the makers of canned soup, but it could hurt the makers of computers. Who is going to buy a computer right before it could (Potentially) crash and break. It's called preparing for the worst. It's no different than stockpiling right before a blizzard or a hurricane. If you hoard some stuff and nothing much happens, then you'll just have a cupboard full of extra cans. If you do nothing and it hits, you're in for some problems. |
