I have been waiting for what will positively be the best RTS of all time. Just looking at it's screen shots gives me the chills. The cutscenes should be grade A, since they have James Earl Jones and Michael Biehn in them! All of the possibilities you can choose from- digging trenches, salvaging enemy units to add onto your own, and giant ion cannons! I can't wait, how about anyone else? -007 Diamonds are Forever (They can stimulate and tease me...)

Yea, I'm looking forward to it as well, but it got delayed yet again to August 25th. If Westwood doesnt get this damn thing out the door, it's going to lose alot of it's less patient cosutmers. |

Well, the main designers went and now they don't know how to finish it. I won't bet that it will be out in August. I even wouldn't bet that it will ever be out. |

Well, the acting certainly needs improvement (upon Red Alert that is...). |

I hope it will be something different (And not just like the Dune2 / Dune2000 crock) |

And the C&C/Red Alert crock ? Dune 2000 was just an update, like TIE Fighter Collectors CD or Thief Gold, not a new game. John III |

I just hope they have fog of war now. And a cure for the dreaded tank rush.Valtyr- Well, James Earl Jones is going to be doing the GDI briefings, so the acting should be pretty good. |

Didn't Red Alert have fog of war? What about those shroud-making thingamajigs? |

Nope, it didn't have it. That's what those shroud making things were for. Once you explored a territory, you saw it for good, unless you put up one of those shroud making things. It sucked. |

I think I remember that you could adjust the shroud regrowth in multiplayer games. I'm not sure, though. |

I just hope the minimum requirements will be low enough so I can play it. |

I think that the tank rush problem could be turned into something good. Almost everyone complains when a game's AI doesn't send more than 1 or 2 units to attack you with- you want to be attacked in numbers. Well, the problem in Red Alert was that they only used tanks. Everything else got destroyed, like APC's and artillery. The programmers could add more code telling the computer to send huge numbers of APC's filled with infantry, along with huge numbers of artillery and a helicopter assault, and there you would have not a tank rush, but a real attack. One to be scared silly about. If only it would happen...(hint, hint Westwood!)-007 From Russia With Love (Much wiser since my return to you) |

ZRand007, Is that a line from the From Russia With Love theme song? I thought the intro for that was just that insane go-go dancer.Anyway, I hope they take out that blasted Mammoth Tank. That thing was the great imbalancer. |

Not if you surrounded it with Light Tanks, Medium Tanks, Cruisers, Apaches, etc. John III |

Dreadnought,Yes, that is a line from the theme song for From Russia With Love. In the movie, however, it played during the end credits, something that would change for the next Bond film, Goldfinger, in which it appeared at the beginning. The song was sung by Matt Munro. -007 |

Oh yeah!Dreadnought, Westwood added a feature that I believe is revolutionary to constantly change the balance of play- you can salvage your enemy's burnt out units, take them back to your base, and repair them, adding your own tech to it while still using their tech, too. So, in essence, you can take a mammoth tank (which is in the game at last word) and salvage it, adding your own weapons on it, creating a superior weapon to use against the enemy. Now the balance of power is on your side. Let's say the other side is able to capture your super-mammoth tank, then they have the lead. So you have to try to at least keep up in your own unit production and refitting in order to maintain balance. Kinda neat, ain't it? -007 |

Dreadnought: Not if you took a cruiser to their base and blasted the hell out of their Factories...Anyway, 2-3 turrets take out a mammoth take easily, and they are much cheaper to build. |
