Is there such a thing? Has anyone bothered? Does anyone care? If the answer is 'no' then maybe someone is interested in making it happen? Anyone? (If you dont know what mIRC is, just post) |

Erm, not quite, John. mIRC was around long before Mirabilis was started. I think it's mIRC, because the author's name is Kahled Mardam-Bey...m for Mardam. Not sure, though, but I do know it has nothing to do with Mirabilis or ICQ. mIRC connects to dedicated IRC servers on different networks (EFnet, Undernet, a bunch of others; EFnet being the largest--averaging 45-50k users/bots online). ICQ uses its own servers and chat clients for chatting. It doesn't connect to IRC servers. And, Alphaman, do you just mean PBEMing by DCC filesends? It's possible, and I'm sure it's been done. I've never bothered, though. Shadowhawk |

It's not the DCC that is important Shadwhawk...it's the great chat time we're gonna spend there if possible. And while am at it... Alphaman If you're realy interested in using a channel called SMAC or something like that (no FIRAXIS please)...i am willing to register a channel by that name...only we must ensure that we have at least 10 frequent visitors, and after some time there shall be more. (hopefully) Ya in? MiKaeLe |

I meant that IRC is Internet Relay Chat, and mIRC is the Mirabilis software. John III |

Yes, I wasn't talking about PBEM. Just chatting. And YES, Mik, I'll be in. (Thats 2. 8 more to go) What server? |

John, except...mIRC isn't related, in any way, to Mirabilis. mIRC is completely separate from Mirabilis, and they don't share the same servers, programs, or ruling company. Unless Mirabilis released its own IRC program under the name mIRC...but then they'd have a copyright infringement lawsuit on their hands. Shadowhawk |

Alphaman I wish to put it on undernet if that's kewl with you. I got 3 more users. 5 to go. I hope you'll ask around for some more. I'll try to put a virtual bot on #SMAC real soon, so nobody comes up with a weird idea MiKaeLe |

Ah, yes. No free mail adresses please. (no hotmail, yahoo etc.) They don't accept those as legitimate when registering a channel. |

Good for you JohnIII. Could i please have your ISP for SMAC channel registration? You will just receive one annoying mail telling you that the channel is beeing registered. huh? MiKaeLe |

Ahh... Which Undernet though? I got about two dozen here, all over the place. Does it matter which one you join? If you want my email, its in my profile. |
