Is this game any good? It sounds like it could be enjoyable, but I'm not sure. Will it run on my system?: P166 w/MMX, 24 megs of ram (soon to be increased), and a Diamond Monster Fusion 16 MB video card. I'm mostly concerned about the processor.

I am running a 200 Mhz MMX w/32 MB. I have no complaints about speed, even though I have a crappy video card (nowhere near what you have). You should be fine speed-wise.The game is excellent. If you liked the first one, I can guarantee that you will like the second one. If this is your first Railroad Tycoon game, the best way I can recommend it is by saying that it was Sid's necessary precursor to Civilization. RRT2 has much better AI than the first one and has a wide selection of challenging scenarios. As I hear it, it is fun multiplayer, but I have never played it that way. It is real-time, but you set the pace, including doing actions while paused. The price is a bit steep IIRC, so I would recommend ebay for a cheaper buy, since it has been out more than a couple of months. You will probably be wanting the "Second Century" add-on in a while, so I would budget that as well. |

The game is great! I've been playing it more than SMAC. There is a lot of variation from play to play because of the random placement of resources and it's not an aggressive game in the sense of fighting anyone else. You do compete against your rivals but it's not a violent confrontation. I highly recommend it.As always, I remain, Your faithful and obedient servant |

I like the game, but it doesn't have the same charm as the first one. And, yes, it will run on your system, just slow. Wont be a prob until you get deep into the game and have lots of trains running. |

Thanks for the replies.I added another 32 MB memory today (total 56)-- will this help or is it the processor that will keep the game from running fast? |

Dreadnought-- Tell me about it. I still need both HOMM III and Imperialism II as well. DanS-- So the pause option enables you to perform all functions of the game without the standard real-time clickfest? This is my biggest concern, because I can't stand strategy games that come down to whoever clicks the fastest winning. |

I can assure you that nothing in the game relies on your proficiency in manipulating the user interface. |

Yes, you can pause and do everything you can do while not paused (this is a little different than the first one, where there were some functions you could while paused but not others). |
