We've had to endure alost 8 years of the Clintons....please....no more. Hillary wants to run for the Senate in NY. She said she was a lifelong Yankee's fan. A couple of years ago in Chicago she said that she has been a Cub's fan since she was a little girl. Make up my mind. Please, Bill and Hillary, just take your $200K/year and go back to Arkansas.Does anyone know Hillary's win/loss record as a lawyer?

I don't think Hillary argued cases, she was in the firm because Bill was governer. The only things she seemed to work on were things that got Webb Hubbell indicted. As a former New Yorker I say Let Her Run! Once she's receives the thrashing she deserves maybe we will be able to drive a stake into the hearts of both those liberal vampires from Arkansas.Remaining, as always Your faithful and obedient servant "I can remember way back when a liberal was one who was generous with their own money." She'll win. Being a celebrity makes you a citizen of NY in the minds of New Yorkers, even if you haven't lived there a week. Of course, if she wins, it'll hurt Gore's chances for prez. |

Oh, the republicans will try to draw Gore down with connections to Clinton/Hillary. They'll point out 'bad' policies from the Clintons that Gore supported/supports, etc. I don't see it as much of a problem for him. |

If the Republicans lose every other race except the White House and the New York Senate race, they will count it as a victory.Hillary doesn't have a chance in hell. Gore " " " " " " Bill Clinton has done more to destroy the Democrats than a hundred Newt Gingriches ever could. |

One of the things that really pisses me off about this is that Hillary is using my tax dollars for her to run there. Because she is making appearances as "the first lady" and not "a candidate" she can charge the taxpayer for all her expenses. As for the baseball thing, hey, what did you expect from a Clinton? Honesty????? |

Just wondering. What does the word "Liberal" imply to Americans ? It doesn't seem to mean the same as in Europe. |

Liberal doesn't mean the same thing. In the US, a Liberal is someone on the "left" of our political spectrum (usually a Democrat... can't recall any liberal Republicans). Liberals tend to favor the view that government can Cure All Evils. They like big government programs and getting government controls into any area they can. They also favor redistibution of wealth programs (steal from the rich to give to the poor sort of things). They also seem to be rather into environmentalism and one-worldism.Wraith Hello, Agent Mulder, I hear you're looking for aliens. You can call me the Doctor |

The word "liberal" as it applies to politics has changed meaning over time in America. The old fashioned "liberal" is todays libertarian. A libertarian view is that government should be minimal and unintrusive. Todays definition of a liberal is much different indeed. As Wraith points out modern liberals want a huge babysitting style government. There is still some common ground left, but it is shrinking. It used to be that liberals wanted personal freedoms, but that has been changing lately. |

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess I should use the word Libertarian instead, when I try to explain my political standpoint to americans in the future. |

You almost didnt have to worry about her. I heard on the news that she was playing with a land mine! She started to touch the fuse and someone yelled at her to put it down. I wonder if Bill gave it to her; Here honey, see if you can figure out what this button does while I go over behind this block wall.Wraith: reference to unnecessary Gore. LOL

Here in europe "liberal" is what you call "libetarian", while the people on the political left are usually socialists of some kind (Althouh there is a large number of mid-to-right "socialists" too...) or a member of a "green" party. Liberal also has a meaning in the context of economic policy, where a liberal defends Capitalism, "free" trade and "globalisation". The first is evil and the latter two myths, but what the heck. |

Most of your so-called "liberals" would be some sort of social democrats in europe. They believe in some sort of government-controlled free capitalism. What an Oxymoron! |

Libertarians = liberal in the U.S.? That's not the way I understand it. There are some libertarians on the extreme left and some on the extreme right. Liberal normally means someone who believes in an activist government. |

Well here in europe the term "libertarian" is used to describe anyone who wants personal freedom, on any side of the political spectrum. A liberal traditionally is someone who believes in equal rights for all and the right to individual propery, but since the advent of Neo-Liberalism they have become much more scary... |
