Half-Life. That game is so good I can't think of the words to describe it. No other game has made me literally ( ) jump out of my skin or have to stop playing because I am too scared. It's a bit unfair comparing different genres but I think my second favourite of all time is Pirates! |

Simple: It has none. The only thing Single-Player is good for is time trial and testing your home-made tracks. You definately need acess to a friend or two to truly enjoy it.however the most enjoyable feature is neither single player nor multiplayer. It's the stupendous, great, excellent, perfect, superb, sublime level editor. I've never had so much fun. Have you ever tried designing a track together with a friend? I love this game. And then, play it against them. The shuffling fest is wonderful. |

Hmmm... Well, my favourite game ever is Settlers 1, but I've played that so much that I'm kind of tired of it. Same with Diablo, Daggerfall and Civ2. There's just no challenge any more. So if I was trapped on an island I would probably need a game that I still haven't mastered yet and the game I'm playing these days is Imperialism 2 (bought it last week). So I wouldn't take my favourite game with me if I was only allowed one . |

Do N64 games count? If so, then All Star Baseball 2000 easily... if not, I'm not sure. Favorite PC game of all time I guess is SMAC, but if I had some friends with me a good baseball simulation would be more welcome. Best baseball sim has to be Diamond Mind Baseball. |

Mine would be strat-o-matic. Since it includes all the players from every season since 1901 and you can draft leagues and recreate seasons you have an almost infinte variety of combinations to try out. As long as you like baseball, and I certainly do."Take me out to the ballgame" Your faithful and obedient servant |

I have played so many good ones...Monster Construction Kit -- or whatever it was called. Excellent multiplayer. Unique replayability. Simple. C64. M.U.L.E. -- Again, excellent multiplayer. Simple, engaging economics game. C64. Pirates! -- Adventure. Story-driven. Again, simple concept. C64. Civilization -- much more addictive, although not nearly as polished as Civ2. PC. The winner is Pirates! Civilization is certainly the most memorable. But then, when you think back on Civilization, do you get that wistful feeling of pleasant memories? Pirates! wins hands down in this regard. I suppose this proves that simple games are better. |

Half Life is my fav, if I can include the TFC mod. HL singleplayer kicked ass! (except for Xen)My old time favorite is Pirates!. I liked both the C64 and the NES port. Pirates! Gold didn't compare with either. |

Pinko34: Pirates! is an adventure game set in the Spanish Main of 1540-1700. You are an ambitious young pirate captain seeking your fortune in this world. As a hard-fencing swashbuckler, with a couple of hundred men at your side, you can raid and capture enemy boats and cities. Plunder their gold, and ehm... be nice to their ladies. Receive land grants and military rank from European powers. Marry the governor of Panama's beautiful daughter. Find your long-lost family members who have been cast to the four winds by fate. Ahhh!!! What a game! |
