I must admit, Harvard is my dream school. So has anyone here been accepted and graduated from Harvard? If so, do you have any advice to give to a rising Junior on what it takes to get in? I realise that every case is particular, but surely there are general...strategies. I mean, do they care much for Varsity sports or do they put more weight in academia? I will be taking part in the International Baccalaureate program. Do they take special weight to that? What sort of extracurricular activities do they like the best? &c.--Veracitas

Vera - you are obviously way too smart to be here on this forum. The average IQ here is not much greater that most people's shoe size.As evidence I present the above few posts, which have already hijacked this thread to talk about Blackadder, which, although a marvellous show, is not the topic here. Sorry John, I had to say that. It was begging to be said. |

Oh come on. Dont tell me you don't see the irony. The guy asks about Harvard and two posts later we are talking about Blackadder. I think its absolutely hilarious! And very typical of SMAC. |

Lie about your academic achievements. Claim to be a direct descendant of Abraham Lincoln, John Rockefeller or the King of Tonga. Learn a Masonic handshake. Pretend to be an expert at equestrian events. Offer to fellate your interviewer and generally act like the unprincipled and self-obsessed social climber that I understand most Harvard types turn out to be.Still, what do I know? The University of Wales (College of Cardiff) is a world away.... Let people judge you on who you are rather than where you've studied. |

Why Stop at Harvard? With a full 45-point IB Diploma, You'll be able to enroll in MIT, Oxford and Cambridge Simultaneously!!!!!Actually, I think the IB might hinder more than help. |

To explain, Blackadder asked a bird he was trying to ascertain whether or not she was a spy. Said something about 'The great universities, Oxford, Cambridge, Hull', and uses this to ascertain she was a spy (by not recognising the odd one out). He explains this to his commander, and he says,'Of course, Oxford's a dump', just to clarify that. She is shot and it turns out to be someone totally different. |
