Johan Cruyff said we lacked even the basic skills and I can't argue with him.
We suck. How can an England shirt remove the ability to pass a ball? Or cross it properly? Or tackle? Or go round a player? Or get in the right position for a free kick?
When they had a man sent off it was more like they got an extra player. Is there any point Phil Neville trying to cross the ball from the half way line? Why is Sol Campbell punting the ball from his the edge of his own box?
Woodgate was the only good player and Keegan took him off!
We haven't actually got any good midfielders except Super Becks have we? Where's Paul Ince the midfield general? How many times have we seen him play badly for Liverpool then put an England shirt on and sweat blood for his country. (Literally in the case of Italy!)
Plus Channel 5s coverage it terrible. Sky rules.

I'm obviously too depressed to type properly.
Oh yeah Howard Wilkinson piss off, let Peter Taylor run the under 21s. Or can you do better than 6 wins out of 6. 19 goals for none against even when you lose 8 players to the England first squad which in itself is a worthy achievement.
International Football's like life, you spend years building it up and then it's a total disappointment.

Mike, try to get a tape of Austria's 0:5 desaster against Israel (or the 0:9 vs Spain), and you'll feel a lot better about England.

So now I'm depressed....hmmmppfff....

No I won't Roland. I've got nothing against Austria. I don't want to see them lose (except when they got that late goal against Cameroon) I can't even watch Germany's humiliating defeat because it was only 1-0 and Scotland beat them. We can't have scotland being better than us at football. It's ridiculous.

Mike, to be honest I gave up on Enlgand after we got Keegan in.
The main thing that frustrates me about watching England is the lack of effort. I mean, I would be delighted to play and would be willing to break a leg in the course of the game if we won, but the obscene wages these players recieve seems to give them an air of detatchment.

Do you think England will Qualify for Euro 2000 at all? Sweden will now Definately win the group. Will Sweden beat poland if they don't need to and a win is Poland's only chance of qualifying? If Poland wins, they come second...

Scotland better than England? Come on, the Scots drew with the Faeroe Isles for chrissakes! (Faeroe Isles: Remember them, Roland? They beat Austria 2-1 some years ago .)

If you think C5 is crap you should try watching it on pay per view in the US.
Missed first 5 minutes of second half (commercials), the commentator sounded if he was at half speed AND they overlaid corporate logos with the action!!
And then the football - quite probably the most disgraceful performance I've ever seen from an England side.
