My games are a little skewed, because while I had a 1.6 Gig HD I was deleting left and right to make room, often in places I would normally keep untouched. And I haven't reinstalled everything I might have normally. In any case:SMAC HOMM III (II would be too, save disk space) Myth II (I too, but disk space) Curse of Monkey Island (now I feel dumb for using the walkthrough webpage.) CivII Sim City 2000 Transport Tycoon (can anyone tell me how to run rail lines that aren't the absolute simplest that the computer can understand? It only survived 'cause it take so little room) King's Bounty (same reason as TT- takes up like 500 K) Acrophobia (hey, that counts too- despite having not played it in a good while) |

Here goes:Half Life: I spend all my PC time at the moment on the internet playing deathmatch Half Life, I'm addicted. Definately the best one player FPS ever made by a million miles and I prefer the deathmatch to Quake 2 but I think that is a matter of taste rather than quality. SMAC Quake 2 (should delete it, never play it very disappointing game I thought) Civ II FIFA 99 FIFA World Cup 98 FIFA Road to World Cup 98 Championship Manager 2 Championship Manager 97/98 Championship Manager 3 C&C Red Alert X-Wing vs Tie Fighter X-Wing Alliance Duke Nukem 3D Still a great game even if I never play it any more. SMAC, of course. Theme Hospital (and I'm amused I'm not the only one) NethackFormerly on, but currently off due to space limitations (still sitting around my house, though): Civ2 MoO2 Gabriel Knight (the first one) I have a 4G hard drive sitting in my apartment waiting to be installed, which will probably correspond to more games on my hard drive(s). If nothing else, I expect to put Gabriel Knight back on and see if I can get past his whining to play the game. I'm waiting for Riven to drop another $5 before I buy it, but it'll probably be next. |

Theme Hospital- hehe. I loved the demo for that, but never got around to buying it. The demo of Roller Coaster Tycoon is pretty good, but it's too darn hard to design roller coasters- too often I come back to join the original, and I'm one square misaligned, forcing me to rebuild half the coaster, seemingly.Picker: I played Breath of Fire I, and loved it- but took only a passing glance at II and it's plot. It sounded like it totally defied the great plot of the original. How was it? |

4H: Don't bother. Everything I've read about it says that it set up a great feel, had pretty graphics, a lot of options... and totally, completely moronic AI and game features. As well as really unbalanced races (a warrior scientist race? Ahhhh!). I remember one option complained about- the ship battles was each side takes a turn moving one ship, a la chess. So if I have one ship and you have 9, it's still almost like 1 on 1 combat, since for every move each of your ships makes, my ship has 9 moves. |

SnowFire-True enough about the AI being a little slow brained. However I thought the races were fairly even. You had a good variety to choose from too. And as far as the ships go.....1 ship, 1 shot (per turn)...if you're outnumbered.....too bad, so sad.....you were toast. |

HW: I would check out the Apolyton multiplayer section before spending your money on Civ2 MGE. I spent a good 75 hours playing it, but have yet to finish a game, even with loyal and honorable opponents. Some have coped with the slow gameplay by playing scenario games, Arena-style games, and diplomatic games. If any of these interest you, it is worth the purchase. If these do not, I suggest saving your cash and playing more SMAC multiplayer. There are also considerations if you're thinking of playing IP. For instance, what time zone you are in. Will you be able to find players that play your type of game, including skill level. |

Spoe: Sorry. I forgot Solitaire and Hearts too. As for Minesweeper, after you learn the patterns, it really becomes luck in clearing minefield- you aren't making any stupid mistakes, and you pray you don't get a field that you clear 95% of and then find 2 squares each with exactly a 50% chance of having a mine and no way to find out more information.I think I'm going to get ImpII very soon. |
