On th date of June 1, 1998, the SMAC forums officially opened for the first time. Today, June 1, 1999, is the one year anniversary of the great and holy SMAC forums!
So, take this time to remember everything we've accomplished in the past. The Chronicles of Future History, Amen Brother Greg, The ever continuous I Club, and various posters who have come and gone.
Thomas A Stobie, The Director General, Rang, etc. We don't see them much anymore, but they were all here around the time the forums opened.
And on July 8, 1998 I came. I'll celebrate my one year anniversary in a month

I have it on very good authority that June 1st is also the birthday of Firaxis Games.
The company was three years old yesterday.
