The first one is dead simple: press com, alt and del and click on the "end task" button.

Or you could just press the "windows" key if you have one, start another task in full screen mode, then right-click on the box in the task-line (?) which says "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri etc., etc." and chose "close" from the pop-up menu.

The third way is rather a preventive one, but it saved me many times on many occasions (not just the alerts). If you use MS IE 4.0 or higher, set its sensitivity to highest level. Most of those html-toys are not flawless, and the IE will detect these flaws. Then a box will appear asking you whether scripts should still be executed (or something like that, unfortunately my computer only speaks German ). Just click "no", and any html-toy will be ended.

For a better and safer surfing!

Better solution:

Losers who make them get a new hobby!

Or the losers could at least use a little creativity and make them a little more innovative. I've made them with keyboard input trapped so the enter key won't work, modal always on top behavior, and jump to a new location when the button has mouse focus for more than a certain amount of time. But that's what Java applets are for - they're not a lot of [b]real[b/] use. (C++ redneck speaking)

Ambro 2000 should've been shot for lack of creativity at Apolyton. If you're going to F*ck with people, then DO it, don't just play around.

I can't believe screwing people's computers up is a hobby now.
The human race hasn't got a chance has it?
