By 19th century rules we'd call the spying stuff a casus belli and go attack China. Good thing this is the end of the 20th, I suppose. |

Anyone who has ever read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" (if you haven't read it - get it!!!!!!!!!) could have predicted this whole thing. It started even before Nixon, and was one of the major precipitants to the 1962 fallout between the People's Republic of CHina and the USSR. Active espionage in all areas is one of the cornerstones of Chinese geopolitical strategy, and it always will be. |

China and the US are merely players on a stage, so don't get too worked up over a little espionage. They both know the ending, but you have to have a little conflict first. Otherwise the audience leaves unhappy. Just ask Shakespeare. |
