Any one seen this cool movie.
I thought it was pretty good.

The but where Renton shoves them pills up his ass. Hilarious.

And where he's diving into the Worst Tiolet in Scotland. Damn funny.

I seen the movie 4 times and I still don't know

"Trainspotting" is a reference to an abandoned railway station that the characters use to shoot up in. The scene didn't survive the translation from book to film.

Still, a very good movie.

I liked it too. Thank god Renton wised up at the end and ran off with the money. I have the soundtrack, and I recommend it as well.

Got the sound track? Cool.
I like the "Choose life" song.
The intro Renton gives at the start of the song slagging off society is pretty cool.

Can you type it in for us?
I only remenber bits and pieces of it after they (finally) play it on radio again.

"Choose to stuff junk food in your face"
is a line that sticks out in memory.

Oh, the movie trainspotting! I thought you menat the Hobby trainspotting!

Trainspotting is one of britains top hobbies. People in anoraks stand on railway stations noting the time every trains passes by, hoping to get a glimpse of a "rare" train (like the Queen's private train).

There's no point, it's just a waste of time (and, consequently, life). That's why they picked the name - to indicate that heroin addicts waste their lives (moral of the story: heroin sucks). Other drugs are pretty cool, tho.

DCA,
I sucked that smoke in and made it part of me, joined mystically with the universe right at that point, said Yes to drugs forever just by the unique hit I got from that one packet of fags.

Has everyone seen this?

Extract from Ewan MacGregor's script from Star Wars: The Prequel.....

The title music finishes, the text has rolled off the screen to reveal
a galaxy, the camera pans down to a planet:

A man in brown robes is running down a street in a desert town
(Cantina) chased by several stormtroopers. He trips over a rock, rolls on the
floor and Obi Wan Kenobi (Ewan MacGregor) says:

Choose the force. Choose a side, Choose a jedi knight, Choose a teacher, choose a ****ing big death star, choose star destroyers, blasters, tie-fighters and a light sabre. Choose a black suit, black helmet and boots. Choose a loan from Jabba the Hut. Choose a philosophy. Choose an
Emperor. Choose a planet with matching moon. Choose a three planet system in the Dromoda system and ****ing enslave them. Choose the Rebels and wonder why the **** you are kneeling by the Emperor on a Sunday
morning. Choose sitting next to that Emperor watching whole planets being enslaved in mind-control, force-crushing battles, stuffing ****ing replacement parts into your body. Choose rotting away at the end of it
all, pissing your last in a miserable death star, nothing more then a dictator, to the selfish, evil ****ed up brats who fight for you. Choose a future.
I chose something else;
I chose the dark side.

Alphaman, do you mean "Lust for Life" by Iggy Pop? That's the first song...it plays when he's being chased at the movie's beginning.

In the book there is a part were Renton and Begbie are walking across a railroad station and meet an old bum that asks them if they are trainspotting (jokingly). It later appears that the bum is Begbies father. It is the only place in the book where trainspotting is mentioned.

Does anyone here like Brett Easton Ellis? His books are similar to trainspotting in many ways. I have read American Psycho and Less than zero, and I loved them. I look forward to the movie version of American Psycho, but I also have a slight fear that it will be too hollywoodized.

I have to say that I always thought it was a reference to the tracks on their arms but then I haven't read the book.

I'll do this just as a personal favour to a person whose name i would like to keep unknown...

Trainspotting stands for spotting the train out of the junk...out of the narco life...but as i have guessed correctly before you have no fu(king idea what i'm talking about...so watch out kids...

Take Care
