That should be good news for peace minded Israelis, Palestinians and everyone else who wants the fighting to stop. Which, I realize, is far from everybody. |

jsorense: Good news, yes, but Barak isn't quite a dove of heavenly peace. In any case, definitely a step in the right direction. A bigger question is whether Barak will include in his ministry members of Israel's ultra-conservative party, who doubled their number of seats and are now the 3rd biggest party in the Knesset despite the fact their leader is under indictment for corruption. Don't include them, and have them hate Barak forever and do nothing but stonewall; or include them and pray they don't run wild or your more liberal members quit. |
