With the release of SMAC and exams looming in the horizon, I found myself getting less and less sleep. Therefore I have decided to compile a list of sleeping tips to help all SMACers to help them recover from a night of late SMACing. Some tips I have already collected are:

- warm glass of milk
- no caffein or naps near bedtime
- don't lie in bed doing nothing if you can't fall asleep within 20 minutes

My friend Guardian says that sleep is for the weak...but even himself after 36 hours in a row he must go sleep...or he falls to the ground and sleeps anyway...
I'd say...hmm gee I never remember at what exact moment and in what aprticular conditions I fall asleep...
I guess you should do something very tiring just before you go to bed...that should help. Like replace all the furniture in your living room while chatting and playing a FPS like Tribes or Quake AND try to talk to the telephone on a second line and reply to messages on the forums and in emails...I bet you will fall dead after about 6 minutes...

One thing, eNo, dont listen too much to TOADS for you may turn out like him.

"TOAODS" - that's a good ancrynom

I heard somewhere that there was an experiment done where a person would take short naps during the day and a sleep for a shorter amount of time during the night. The person supposedly gained something like 2 waking hours per day. Anybody know anything?

sleep is for the weak!

take Tylenol 3's and a large quantity of Caffeine... if you don't pass out (sleep), you'll be awake... and buzzing.. and after a few times doing this glowing as well. Not that I would know anything about this....

Herbal Sleeping Pills are good. So is anything with Codene. Lotsa, lotsa Sex! (with partner or by yourself) {Sorry, I had to throw that in}

eNo: I heard about it a little...I think in time of war Napoleon used that to an extent (well ok...he almost didn't sleep at all, I do not think it was the same thing).

eNo- wasnt there a Seinfeld episode about that? Kramer did it because Leonardo DaVinci invented it. I would have tried it but I am unable to nap.

Caffeine doesn't keep me up at all. You want to go to sleep? Quit that wimpy stuff, take a couple codeine pills and drink a beer or two. Works for me.

FWIW

When I last had exams I asked a friend of mine to take my computer away and hide it from me. Not to let me have it back until such-and-such a date. Cold turkey was absolutly vital to drag the mind onto the books.

Of course, if you're putting in all the revising you ought, you may find yourself too knacked to do owt else than sleep at the end of the day.
