I'm still experiencing game crashes in the latter stages of the game. I'm running on a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop, 60MB on RAM. I reloaded the game from the CD, (set up using the Laptop option), checked the Windows Swap file size (234MB), No modifications to any of the .txt files, and no other programs running in the background. MY 2365 - During A1's turn, the program error message appears; "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." Debug will not run, (I get a black "box") to allow me to see the details. It's starting to get frustrating, as I haven't been able to finish a game since the problem started. Will sending the .sav file to you help in order to assist in troubleshhoting the problem? I need real help on this one. Thanks! |

Probably not. Are you specifying that amount of virtual memory (234 mb)? If so, let windows determine it's size. Large or Huge maps can exceed that amount quite easily. Also, defrag that drive so that the entire amount of free space might be used. jkm firaxis games |

Jeff - Sorry I hadn't filled in a few of the details. Windows IS determining the size of Virtual memory. The "planet size" is huge, but I've ALWAYS played on that size before. Additionally, I did run scandisk and defrag on the drive on Friday, Oct 1. I work for Toshiba Computer Systems Division, as a Field Engineer, so they're tests I've run a ba-zillion times for our customers. I found zero problems when I ran them. SO.... Now what? Thanks Jeff! |

I guess go ahead and send the save in to [email protected]. Please detail what we'll need to do to duplicate it, even if it's obvious. I warn you however, that we've never be able to duplicate these types of problems here. That doesn't mean we won't keep trying though! jkm firaxis games |
