I get the secret project planetary datalinks, which should allow me to get the discoveries of three other factions. But it does not seem to work. However, it does not seem to do anything. Does anybody know how this is suppose to wrok?

Only gives you tech as someone discovers it, existing discoveries only count if some other faction is discovering it.
Make sense? Does not really work completely the way one expects.

That's the exact way the Great Library worked in Civ and Civ2. Why would the team that put those torgether think to make it work differently here in SMAC? Answer, they wouldn't. They just increased the number of minimal others to know a tech before given to the owneder of the Links, IF it's not already known.
