Has anyone had any problems getting any version of SMAC to run on vmware on Linux?

For those that aren't familiar with vmware, it is a virtual machine that runs on linux and you can run win95 or NT on it.. and then most applications that run in those OS's can run inside vmware. I want to run SMAC on Linux but I am not sure if people have tried this and run into problems yet.
