I've recently installed Alpha Centauri on my new PC and I seem to have sound for the opening sequence, but no game sound effects at all. My sound card is a yamaha 3d (don't have the exact model number) and I followed all the help text on checking my sound and drivers for direct X certification. Well, the drivers are not certified, but the sound card works on Call to Power and many other games I play so I don't get it. Has anyone had a problem with Yamaha sound cards in general ? any help would be appreciated. thanks

The game is misdetecting your soundcard as EAX compatible. Set both the EAX and DS3D entries in the alpha centauri.ini file to 0.
