I have v4.0 english version. I have a Microsoft Intellipoint Mouse with wheel. The wheel doesn't work. How do I make it work? Do I have to edit the .ini file? Plz respond. Others are also having the same problem.

On my machine I _HAVE_ to disable the mouse driver...Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE, and remove any mouse drivers, on my machine the mouse driver is called "Em_exec". Also, check around in the control panel, and click on "mouse". See if there is an option there to select "Office compatible mouse scrolling"... But there are some strange things that Firaxis should fix... On the City list screen, you cannot use the wheel... (And that's annoying when I have like 50+ cities) TNSe |

TNSe, thats a sollution! Now MouseWheel works with my SMAC. But to remove the mouse driver at any startup from SMAC ???? (I call this a bug!) |

Well, I wouldn't say Alpha Centauri is your problem... They do it like they should do, the problem is actually the "smart" mousedriver... It simulates scrolling up/down using pageup/pagedown.Perhaps Firaxis will support this type of scrolling too in later versions??? TNSe |

Thanks for the replies, but unfortunately this solution doesn't work for me. Mine may be a windows problem, but I can't be sure. |

I think an offical Logitech driver isnt a problem, it is a feature. And I need the driver for my cordless mouse. The bug is - like any time - windows. It goes into trouble with an mouse driver from system and one from game - an VERY good system for users without many knowlede about computers... |
