Ok, with v4 the maintainance costs are halved. But the extra unit police business does not work. My SE allowed ONE police unit. Therefore, after building the SAC, I should *effectively* have 2 police units. But this was not so. Confirmations of this?

The other police issue is that of non-lethal methods. Same SE as above (POLICE at 0). After using two special abilities on my defence troops (AAA and non-lethal methods) I thought that each police unit should take care of 2 drones instead of one. Again, not so. Can anyone confirm this?

To the contrary. At least as far as the non lethal methods special ability is concerned.
In two of my pbems, I am using police defenders with the nlm special ability and they are 'attending' to two drones each very nicely. Remember that police are the last modifier applied and that they cannot make talents.

A point though, both of these games were started under V 3.0. Another voice from one who has played from the start with 4.0 would be appreciated.

I cannot speak to SAC. I quit building that SP a couple of versions ago. When I again have the opportunity, I will build it, just to verify or disprove your report.

I'll send you the save. I've dinked around with it more and the hitch is the police rating. If it is greater than ZERO then NLM function as advertised. NLM does not function at 0 and -1 although these two ratings allow one police unit.

As to SAC I've only checked at police of 1 and there was no effect...
