I just don't get it! After I upgraded to v4.0, everything is slower and even locks up. When u load a new game...slow. When you try to quit...slow. When you right click on something...the game freezes (sometimes). Anyway of making this faster? For now...i'll download the v3.0 patch and play it with that...

I loaded the update last night. While I too have noticed an increase in load time, I only noticed it because of your post. On my machine (NEC Powerplayer 3020, P2-200, 96Meg Memory, Windows'95), it took the system a few more moments to load the game. I estimate it took 30 seconds instead of the 20 it took in the past. In the scheme of things, 10 seconds isn't alot, but it is a 50% increase in start up time. I can see where one might get concerned on a slower machine.
