Sometimes my scratched game CDs are also dirty, so cleaning them can help. Use a bit of rubbing alcohol and a piece of silk and rub conter-clockwise. If this doesn't work, I don't think it would be illegal to d/l a pirated copy as you already bought the game.

I rather not download... The scratch is extremely obvious and I tried cleaning. No luck.

Heh.. believe it or not.. try this.
Get some Tartar control toothpaste, crest or colgate.. rub this into the CD with a tissue. Wash the CD and air dry or VERY lightly with another tissue. Been doing this for years and stored 95% of the "kids" CD's after they've had a go at them.
