Everytime I try to edit the faction picture to my own it ends up all garbled and ****ed up. I need to know what the problem is...
please help. could it be the pallete??

Does your intended replacement look lovely or foul in 256 color? I think that will be important.

Also, what program are you using to edit the picture? I have been using Photoshop, which seems really oblivious of .pcx issues like palettes and stuff. Photoshop's repsect for palettes is almost nil. If you're converting the .pcx from bitmap format to indexed color, in order to use all those cool Photoshop tools, then Photoshop is going to completely decide on its own what its palette should be when you convert back. It's a bit of a hairy process to get the file converted back to the right palette, so tell me if you're using Photoshop or not before I go into it....
