According to the Datalinks -- Construct Mine:"A mine increases the mineral output of a square:
.
.
Rocky squares: +2 minerals (+3 if road)
A mine provides an additional +1 minerals in a Mineral Resource square."
So the mine/mineral resource combination gives you an additional +1 minerals, on top of the +2 you get for the mineral resource. Hmmm. I didn't know this before.
I went into the Scenario Editor to confirm this and I found out something else: what the Datalinks doesn't tell you is that to get the additional +1, you also need to build a road in the square (or else there's a bug).
Interestingly:
Flat + Mine + Mineral Resource = 3 Minerals
Flat + Mine + Mineral Resource + Road = 4 Minerals
and:
Rolling + Mine + Mineral Resource = 4 Minerals
Rolling + Mine + Mineral Resource + Road = 5 Minerals
This confirms the undocumented requirement for a road to get the extra +1 for a mine/mineral resource combo.
So:
Rocky + Mine + Mineral Resource = 5 Minerals
Rocky + Mine + Mineral Resource + Road = 7 Minerals (5 you normally get, +1 for road/mine, +1 for road/mineral resource)
Thanks guys. A way to get more minerals! Cool.
