I have recently bought AC, but I have not yet played it for a single time, the game always refuses to load. The only thing I can see, is that Terran.exe is loading (CTRL+ALT+DELETE box). However my configuration is more than sufficient (COMPAQ Presario AMD-K6 400 Mhz, 64 Mb RAM, 8 Gb Hardisk (6 GB free), ATI RAGE 3d PRO 2x AGP, 8 mb vid ram, 5x DVD) I would like to see a solution to my problem. Thanks in advance, Davy

Is that the US or European version of the game? I bet that it`s the European one with the copyprotection scheme. Have you downloaded the 3.0 patch? It removes the copyprotection. I would say that it`s a problem with the DVD drive and the copyprotection. It`s pretty common with games nowadays (Railroad Tycoon II, Civ: CTP for example). Try it out.//Ced |

Axel, what version of the game do you have? US or European? Have you installed any patches? If not, do that first.//Ced |

I think you are having the same problem I had. Download patch 3 and disable the intro movie. The movie is probably messing it up. Then when you are in the game disable all movies. If that isn't your problem then you might try updating your video driver. |

Axel: Apply SP4 to your NT4. Movies should work then. Expect the sound to stutter, however - the DirectX support under NT4 is very minimal. NT5 (Win2K) fixes it, however. DVD players also cause problems for SMAC, if you have one.

Ok i tried to implement the patch 3. But get a message that the old file does not exist and that the files are different.....In short this ain't gonna work neither. I do have a DVD by the way which might be an possible source for the error? Traher |
