![]() ![]() My game has the following error when I play: TERRAN caused an invalid page fault in Year 2368 ended my turn going to 2369 and crashes during computer's turn. I've already tried everything - i.e. patched to version 3.0, rename sound.dll to sound.dl_, edited .ini file (eax=0, d3d=0), turned sound off inside the game (preferences), windows is handling swap file size, turned acceleration down to lowest (system), changed screen resolution... get the idea?but still no luck. I have a P2/300 64MB Ram, enough hard drive space in installed dir, Win95, all the latest drivers (whether they are DirectX 6.1, sound, video, 3D etc.) Can anyone help? Posted same error message to EA tech support (since error is supported by EA?!) and got reply saying that they don't have a fix and that I should send them my CD (gasp) along with proof of purchase so they can send me back a sealed copy in hopes that I will RETURN the GAME!!! How about that Tech Support for ya! Somebody else help me please! |

![]() ![]() ![]() Please send me a save illustrating this problem ([email protected]). What is the exact amount of free space on the HD? Traditionally this is caused by virtual memory being exhausted. jkm firaxis games |

![]() ![]() firaxis, couldn't you do something about the amount of virtualmemory recuired??? It seems odd that someone with 1 to 2 Gigabytes of free HD space should run out of VM when AC is the only programm running apart from explorer and rnaapp. Juggler Provost UoP |

![]() ![]() ![]() Well, actually they have no control how much Vmemory is needed..That's decided on how much Windows wants to hog, and how much memory you actaully have =] ..Games are programmed these days with high end systems in mind. Running SMAC on anything below 64 megs, I wouldn't recommend.. |

![]() ![]() I myself have 64mb of SDRAM, but i've read about similar problems, end game crash, on computers with 128 or more megs of ram. Odd, very odd. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I having the same Page Fault in Terran.exe. After installing 3.0 patch. My machine is a P2 350, with SB16 and Monster Sound. 128MB of Ram, 6.4GB harddrive with LOTS of space. My video is a Diamond G460 with Monster Voodoo II. I have tried the setting the EAX=0 and d3d=0. I also ran the DXdiag. It said everything was fine. If there is anything else that Firaxis needs to know let me know!! |

![]() ![]() ![]() Try renaming the sound.dll to sound.dl_ to determine if it's the Monster card that's causing the problem. If it works (albeit with no sound) we know where to start. Begin by running the DXDiag.exe directsound test. jkm firaxis games |

![]() ![]() When i made a custom map of 68 by 128 the game crashed with a page fault in terran.exe after about 15 turns. Norton chrash guard was able to fix 2 of them, but the third was to much. Crashguard said something about terran.exe trying to acces some information that didn't exist. Juggler |

![]() ![]() ![]() In regards to Jeff's reply... I already ran DXdiag. All tests ran fine. I will try changing the sound.dll to sound.dl_. |
