Hello FIRAXIS,
Naval yards provided by the Maritime Control Center wonder don't have the intrinsic +100% sea defence against sea units ( checked using the Scenario Editor in US SMAC v3.0 ) which makes the wonder less than half useful when I'm defending a lot of sea bases. Any plans for a fix in 4.0?

Ummm...check your datalinks
Maritime Control Center SP isn't supposed to give you 100% sea defense. All it does is give all your naval units an additional 2 movement points and build a Naval Base in all of your cities (which allows you to repair naval units quicker and gives any naval units you build a 2 point moral upgrade)

Perimeter defense and Tachyon field's work for sea bases as well as land...

BUT, the datalinks are incomplete....:-(
Try checking alpha.txt(which unfortunately, I don't have at hand right now), at the entry for Naval Yards, the comment reads ";.....,+100% sea def".
Also, check the Gamecenter Guide to Conquering Alpha Centauri, more specifically this page: http://www.gamecenter.com/Features/Guide/Alpha/ss02e.html
The problem is, when you build the Maritime Control Center, Naval Yards pop up all over your empire( as listed in the Base screen ), but the Naval Yards provided aren't the same as those built manually.
