so I finally was able to make the game run, the terran.exe used to crash when the first pod was landing on planet, all it takes was the control panel/multimedia/sb16/ acceleration taking it down to emulating level. so now the game runs, but all the voices and some sounds are having a horrible echo.
I am using win98, awe64, PII 266, 96MB ram, winfast 3d s900 agp, all the latest driver, directX 6.1., patch 3.0.
sb16 driver is ver.16 (4.38.1802)and not certified, does anyone know of a newer version?
as soon as I turn on the acceleration in the multimedia on notch up ,the echoes are gone but the game crashes again.
Yes, I changed the lines (ds3d,eax) in the ini file, so now I can play, but the sound drives me mad and takes the fun out of the game.
last chance I see is to get a hold of the old win95 drivers for the awe64 and see what it does, since I read somewhere, that it worked with one lucky guy at least.
I think, it is just ridiculous that the probably most sold soundcard is crashing and disturbing the game, bad work, guys....

sorry, but the drivers are sb16snd.drv version 4.38.13 and sb16.vxd version 4.38.16

I wonder, if there is a solution to this problem or do we have to wait for patch4.0??
