Hi, My system is Pentium pro-s 200MHZ dual-chip A few days ago, my computer was running with 1 cpu only and under service pack 3. I got it fixed today. Two cpus are working fine and I patch the system to SP 4.0. Now I have this memory dump in the middle of the turn (during the movement of a unit)several times already. Bla bla.. Physical memory dump completed. Secrect project movies run OK. I was able to get the openning movie running 1 time, then I have problem to run it the second time. Set DisableOpeningMovie=1. Did not try to run it again. Help! James |

Check out "http://support.microsoft.com" and click on the "search support" button. Search for "KMODE_EXCEPTION*" and "win32k.sys" and you should find atleast a couple of entries. A number of these problems (some related to SMP btw) should've been fixed in SP4. (and are marked as such in the KB articles) If you're running SP4, and none of the KB articles apply, then you should pursue this with MS. Try mailing [email protected] with a description of your problem. First make sure you can reproduce it and then see if running with only one CPU makes a difference. Even if Firaxis is doing something "wierd", this bugreport should still be addressed to MS, because NT simply should not crash from ring 3 code. (NT4 added some of the graphics -GDI- stuff into the kernel, which effectively made NT4 less stable than NT 3.51!) -- |
