Patch install stops at Terran.exe
Same problem others have had.
I have followed all of the posted advice and I am still unable to install either the second or third patch. I have the entire disk saved to my hard drive, I have both patches saved w/i the same directory, I have tried going thru the installation both from the cd and from the copy of the install.exe I have on my hard drive in the games directory.
I have virused checked my system numerous times, using the latest version of Norton Antivirus, not mention of that virus you keep referring to in the virus definitions though. I did try to get the McAfee recommended previously, but their site is constantly resetting and I cant download it.
I have made NO, NONE, ZERO changes to any of the files whatsoever. I even deleted the whole folder and reinstalled, multiple times.
I double checked to make sure I have the US version per the recommendations.
Any recommendations?
Would it be possible to see if McAfee will allow you to have a copy of their software to distribute temporaily since their server apparently sucks.

I feel your pain. I have been trying to get an answer to this very question myself. My conditions are identical to yours, yet the patch never installs properly. I keep getting an "Old file not found" error message. I hope this is fixable.

Try and enter the setup options, and fidle a little around with the options, don't think this will work, but it is worth a try

Version 3 does not give you the ability to change options. At least not the one I have.
Version 2 does, but I still am not able to get it to work.

I had the same problem when trying to upgrade. To fix it all you hafta do is temporarly get rid of the W95.CIH virus so the ugrade doesnt' screw up around 68% on terran.exe. So is what you do (instead of downloading huge AV progs) just look for a 30k prog called "KILL_CIH" it works great, and disables the virus for as long as you don't open an infected program...SO first dis infect terran.exe run KILL_CIH and upgrade...it worked for me
PS: don't try doing this on the 26th of the month because that is when CIH is activated, it may do alot of harm to your programs...I also heard that it does the most damage on April 26.....................
