Do you see anything, like the firaxis logo? Is this a euro version? If so, try running the game multiple times, as that seems to work for some. Also, if you have a Gateway or Tiny computer, they have a solve for this problem on their web page (related to your CD drive and copy protection).

erm i've had the terran.exe invalid page fault problem as well. At first i thought it could be my AMD K6 333MHz CPU but the game won't run on any of my friend's PCs either, between us we have 2 intels, 2 AMDs and one Cyrix with all meet the mimimum specs and as far as i know are all DirectX certified.
So as far as i can tell unless someone can point me to the right part of the Gateway or Tiny web-sites, which i've tried searching, i'm pretty well buggered.
I've also tried e-mailing the EA tech support and they haven't even bothered to acknowledge my e-mail.

Help.....Someone.........please??

Gateway is www.gateway2000.com.
Tiny is www.tiny.com.

I'm not certain if those are US specific, so you might need to root around.

right, i've checked the gateway and tiny websites but i can't find anything about alpha centauri or copy protection problems Do you know where on the websites i'm suppost to be looking??

It's related to the CD-Rom drive and the SB64PCI (I think).
