when i load the game the top and bottom half of the game are outside my screen,i have adjusted the size and position of my screen and the colour and resolutions,but it stops the same.I have heard that you have to adjust something in windows 98,but i do not know what,can someone please tell me in very simple terms how i must do it

Sounds like you're not switching to the correct resolution. Manually set your desktop resolution to either 800x600x8bit (256 colors) or 1024x768x8bit.
