![]() ![]() ![]() Fill me in on this. Those of you who are experiencing fatals in the sound.dll with v3.0 installed, email me your system specs (specifically your soundcard), what setting EAX and DS3D to 0 in the alpha centauri.ini file did for you, and anything you might think can contribute to duplicating the crash here. Thanks. jkm firaxis games |

![]() ![]() ![]() My sound went off when I installed the 3.0 patch. Fortunately, I had saved my old .ini file with all my sound modiifications. I used this to replace the new .ini file, and my sound started working again. |

![]() ![]() ![]() What did you do Wes, what did you change it to. |

![]() ![]() ![]() The .ini file appeared to be the same in the patch as it was previously, so I added the letters "v30" to the name of the patch file, then copied my old .ini file into the game directory. I had made a number of changes reccommended by Jeff and others on the forums here until it got the game to running properly. I have a habit from Civ II of storing copies of any files I change in a seperate folder, at least before I replace them with a new patch. I had made a few changes to the rules.txt (disabling planetbusters, for example), and so after installing the new patch, I went back to it and noted the changes, and then modified the new file accordingly. |
