After having installed patch 3.0, which should fix the AAA Transport design, I again encounter this seemingly impossible unit. Why?

And you can not make it obsolete or upgrade it. The program just jumps to a different unit. |

I have the same problem if I try to make a "carrier sub". The program just skips to another unit when I try to select it.Solution: Don't make transports with both "carrier" and "sub" abilities. (you have been warned.) |

You cannot make a Carrier Sub? Why not? I did! It was a great unit. Sneak up to the coast of your enemy and scare the living daylighst out of him. A carrier sub sounds too cool to be impossible |

Well, if the save you're playing from was started with v2.0, and those units existed in the game when you patched, that would explain it. See if they occur in games started with v3.0.jkm firaxis games |

I had this problem under 2.0 and it was still there in 3.0. When I try to retire the AAA Transport it asks if I really want to retire the last unit I really did retire. I have seen the problem on some other units too. May be a bad pointer for a computer created unit. BTW, I don't like the UI for the Workshop. Having to select units from the horz icon list at the bottom takes too long. I do not want the computer to generate any units. I would like to control which "slot" a unit goes into so that I can group similar unit types. It's usable but it could be a lot better. Just my 2 cents worth. L8r |

Jeff,Here's what I saw in the V3 game I just finished. I had the 'build units automatically' turned off and couldn't build this unit but the AI was building them like crazy. Seemed to build them in preference to more appropriate defensive units when I attacked him by air. Probably don't have a usable save file but I can look if you want one. |

Jeff, same situation here. The problem I posted originally was in a game begun _AFTER_ installing patch 3.0 I cannot build the AAA Transport units my self, but the AI autobuilder does it. And when I try to open one of the impossible AAA Designs in the workshop, it simply refuses to show me that unit and pops another up one instead. As if the unit is somehow rogue and only exists in the production lists. |
