The version is 3.0 Feb-17-1999.
README
------
� The Current Production at a base is now the top slot of the queue.
� New methods of sorting the F4 base screen based on resources, population, etc.
Gameplay
---
� Nope. The queue does not contain the item currently being built. I tested this with a v2.0 saved game and a v3.0 new game.
� Nope. Under F4, there is no way to sort anything. It stil has the same ol' "Production", "Citizens", and "Garrison" buttons (but they do not sort by any stretch of the imagination). I tested this with a v2.0 saved game and a v3.0 new game.
If you find any discrepancies, post them, preferrably with the original README line quoted.

yo, check out your facts before you start posting, you can sort the bases 12 or so different ways. The production one is right though.

To sort on the F4 screen, go to the "best bases" section and click on any of the categories. You'll sort the list by that category.
I was told you'd be able to change both production & queue without going in-and-out, but I tried it and it didn't work for me either. Something to work on for 4.0, I guess :-(

Unfortunately I do not share the level of enlightenment that you enjoy. I mistakenly assumed that there would have been an obvious addition which one would sort by since the README did not describe *how* to sort.
Instead, in my complete foolishness, I did not click on the bases listed under best bases because I had (again mistakenly) assumed that clicking on a base would have performed its previous function -- jump to that base's production screen.

Woohoo! Half of my suggestion is there ... now all we need is for the F4 screen to display nutrients/minerals/energy produced by each base
