Salam, in the morning.
I�ve got a lot of problems with the german version of AC!
1. No autorun.
2. AC ends at the "Firaxis"-sign, and my PC dies.
3. Sound only with echos.
I tested: directdraw=0, eax=0, ds3d=0(in .ini), dxdiag(no problems), latest drivers, sound.dl_. No improvement.
my hardware: PII 350, Riva TNT, SB PCI64, 64 MB
Please help. Thank You.

1. No autorun? Are you using 32-bit CD-Rom drivers? Right-click on the my computer icon, select properties, and performance. It should say "optimum".
2. That's where the intro movie kicks in. Download DX 6.1 from www.microsoft.com/directx and install it.
3. Echos sounds like a v2.0 version problem. Since there no german patch, how are you using v2.0?

On my machine, the sound stopped chopping when I got the soundblaster to use DMA 1,5 and IRQ 5 instead of DMA 0,7 and IRQ 10.
That seemed to be the problem in general. And I am using the UK version (1.0)... Still waiting for a patch.

First, thank you for considerate help.
But...
After installing Directx 6.1 nothing changed.

Try this. Right click on My Computer, select properties, then performance. Select the graphics button and slide the acceleration all the way down to none. Remember what you did though so you can crank it back up for 3D games.
