This issue may have been raised a couple of times before, but I just want to make sure that I have not missed anything. The game just gets slower and even more slower as the turns and units production progress. It is really quite unbearable by now. One turn takes about 20 minutes due to what appears to be 'lag', if only I was playing multiplayer, but I am not. I tried just about everything i.e I have imported the low-res caviar (can't tell the difference btw - good job ), I have Disabled map animations, sliding windows, and sliding scrollbars. Enabled the following preferences: Move Friendly Pieces Quickly, Fast Battle Resolution, Move Units with orders quickly, Don't Center On Units With Orders. Finally I tried reducing my res to 800x600, but alas to no avail. The only thing I have not tried is buying some more RAM I believe I read somewhere that the 2.0 patch would help somewhat on the performance problems, in that case I can't wait to get it.Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. My specs: UK version with full install 8xspeed CD Pentium 166 32 Mb RAM Soundblaster AWE Missed anything? Well cheerio

Try going out of the game, then restart your machine, and enter the game again and load your saved game. Usually works for me. (I have 128mb RAM, I think there is a memory leak in the workshop, so also turn of the automatic suggestion of new units, reduced my crash frequency by _much_)LD |
