Version 2.0. the messaging system is poor. the "waiting to resolve on other
computers" should be an icon in a corner and not text. the text
occurs too often in internet play. with many people chat is lost in
all of the other "resolve" text. granted it is *there*... perhaps
a button inbetween the "M" and the "I" in the bottom-center control
window should have a "C" button which accesses the chat buffer.
back to the "resolving last movement". why give control to the
player if the last move has not been resolved? several times I have
mistakenly thought I had moved a unit from a stack into either
a) another stack or b) a city. I hadn't. I just didn't see the
"waiting to resolve" message.
. we had an application error in terran.exe. the host was trying to
pause the game (bksp wasn't working) and presumeable was clicking on
the time controls button. I hit CTRL-C to talk to him and it cored.
I don't know if it was CTRL-C or something on his end.
. it is virtually impossible to get a multiplayer game loaded. it
randomly assigns colors to players, you can't easily switch to your
color (especially if someone has it selected). it would be impossible
to restart a seven player multiplayer game because no one could get
the correct civ from one another.
hrm, we restarted AC and everyting worked. if the game is set to
multiplayer *before* others arrived, it seems to work okay.
. multiplayer automatically designs units for you even if you have
that option disabled under the preferences.
another hour has passed and boy do I HATE automatic creation of
units. I seriously hope this is changed for the next patch.
